If I was a girl, I would twirl
In a pretty dress, with my hair in a curl
I would paint my nails in shades of pink
And let my imagination run and think
I'd have a dollhouse, a tea set too
And pretty little shoes, all shiny and new
I'd bake cookies and cakes, with sprinkles and glaze
And go on picnics by the lake on summer days
I'd wear a crown, be a princess, a queen
And dance to my own rhythm, with a music machine
I'd be brave and bold, and never shy
And soar on wings, up into the sky
If I was a girl, the world would be my stage
And I'd fill it with joy, and love, and sage
For being a girl is a gift, that's true
And I'd cherish it, like nothing else I knew.
